Review the MLN and sign-up for a free training.
In this series called The Comeback Story: 9 Compliance Resources to Level Up Your Practice, we are discussing the resources you need to use right now in your practice.
This includes:
Medicare Learning Network (MLN)
Purpose:
The MLN is an extension of CMS. And, they provide free educational materials in the following categories:
- Publications & Multimedia
- Newsletters & Social Media
- Events & Training
- Continuing Education Credits
- Provider Compliance
How to Use It:
Okay, can I just say that I love MLN! Everything about this site serves to assist healthcare professionals about CMS programs, policies, and initiatives.
Their easy-to-understand articles break down information for providers and employees which they can apply immediately. To stay informed, you can subscribe to “MLN Connects”, “MLN Matters”, or “MLN Products” to receive updates about the newest topics and trainings that they offer.
It’s nice that they provide continuing education credits for calls, webcasts, and web-based training processes (through certain organizations). And, if you don’t do anything else, I would at least hope that your staff logs-in and participates in the trainings that apply to your specific practice.
**The opinions and observations from the group/author are not a promise to exempt your practice from fines and penalties. Research, modify and tailor the advice to fit your specialty.
